The play, that started it all for the ducks. Damon Huard dropped back and threw a season-defining interception to Oregon defensive back Kenny Wheaton who ran 90+ yards for a touchdown. Putting a stake through the Husky's football season and birthing Oregon a bid to the rose bowl. No better way to get the rose bowl than to do against your bitter rivals, the University of Washington. Every home game since 94, Oregon relives that play on screen in Autzen stadium, and every time the crowd screams the screams of the past to an unprecedented decibel level. The 2014 meeting of the two universities marked the 20-year anniversary of the rivalry game in 1994. The ducks were flying high on the arm of Marcus Mariota and the undefeated ducks were looking to extend the record 9-year winning streak against the Huskies. Which they did in dominating fashion. I was allowed to recreate the uniform that defined the Oregon ducks football program. Which consisted of rewatching the game, looking at past photos to make sure that Donald Duck was placed with the accuracy of yesteryear. This wasn’t necessarily about re-designing but more about storytelling. From the U of O decals, all the way to the black footwear and white socks. Taking everyone in that stadium and watching from home, back to the program defining moment in 1994.
